June 2010 Glastonbury - Cabaret Tent

The Vogueabonds returned to their home from home, the Glastonbury Cabaret Tent for the third year running. New material, new choreography and the fun addition of headset mics made the show a real corker. Enormous thanks to the audience for their enthusiasm despite the scorching heat. See you again in 2011!

August 2009

Tartan Heart was a stonking success. After joining The Swinging Salamis for some cabaret fun where Lucy stormed it with a sample of her Fake Bush act and Nicola and Barbara delighted the crowd with a tongue-in-cheek rendition of I Know Him So Well (Babs as Elaine Paige, Nicola as Barbara Dickson); The Vogueabonds traipsed across the fields from Cabaret tent to the Seedlings stage, which had mostly housed music circling the folk genre. Seth Lakeman finished a glorious set and as the enormous amount of instrumental equipment was cleared from the stage, the audience drifted out. Oh no! The Vogueabonds took to the stage with an almost empty auditorium. "Hmm isn't Ocean Colour Scene on now...? Wait, who are these girls?" The Vogueabonds pulled the audience back through the doors with the power of song, comedy and fishnets. By halfway through the set, the place was packed and the audience was beside themselves, to the point where condoms were helpfully chucked on stage during "Where is Your Johnny Now?" The girls and Christopher closed The Seedling Stage as the final act of the festival, on a high.

June 2009

After causing a holy rumpus in the cabaret tent at Glastonbury Festival 2009, the Vogueabonds will be returning to Brighton to cook up some devilish plans for their later summer appearances. Next on their list is a trip to the other end of the country, for a turn at the legendary Tartan Heart Festival in Beauly, Inverness-shire. They’ll then be helping facilitate a major chill-out at the Beachdown Festival, Brighton on the last few days of August.
